This group under the direction of Miss Annabelle Haaker, has striven to set the standards and precedents for future years. Regulated on a point basis, each member is allowed to participate in the various activities offered in this field: make-up, costuming, stage designing, lighting, music, dance, choral speaking, and many other phases. Poise, concentration, leader- ship, creative ability, cooperation, and appreciation are some of the obiectives set for all who wish to participate. Plays are chosen to depict the serious and lighter sides of life, one comedy and one dramatic piece in accordance with the mask and iester on the Thespian pin. The plays given this year are Command Performance by Knapp, an adaptation from Lord Ulin's Daughter by Campell, The Valiant by Hael and Middlemang Miss Sydney Carton by Ryerson and Clements, Two Crooks and a Lady by Pillot, A Sunny Morning by Quintero, The Florist Shop by Hawkridge, and The Case of the Weird Sisters by Wall Spence. This group also participated actively in the iunior and senior plays. The Drama Department has made great strides this year, substitut- ing the class room stage and central staging for the much cherished auditorium. Two Crooks and a Lady 5-J

Unlimited amounts of pleasure and knowledge have been obtained through the many fine groups that have been organized this year. ln spite of being in its first year, this department has brought many honors to the school that have made the student body proud.
