Room 74 at its busiest The art department has one aim: to develop the individual as on artist, able to express himself clearly and personally. This is accomplished in three ways: First, by providing a pleasant stimulating environment. Second, by organized teaching to cover the facts of painting mechanics. Third, and most important, is the plan for individual work and criticism. Subject students may choose are cartooning, transportation, poster, photo tinting, illustration, commercial art, figure drawing and portrait, ,costume design- ing and landscape. Three derys each week are allowed for the above weekly assignments. Mondays, all students are expected to do the live model or still life. Fridays, all students are expected to do abstract design, or landscape and other types of art depending on the interests of the classes.
