'll BH X vf' at .Wi .W rx. -Q r ' r' Sf, Foreword It is my understanding that your first annual is being developed around a central theme -GROWTH. No theme could be more ap- propriate this year since in every phase of school activity growth has been so noticeable. We have watched our school plant grow to completion. We have seen tradition after tra- dition develop. We have seen a steady growth in student government and control, in student cooperation, in the concern of all of you for the good name and reputation of your high school, and in the growth and development of clubs and organizations. As your chief administrator my great con- cern has been in the personal growth of each of you. While l have been interested in your growth in the varied fields of learning which the school has so abundantly provided for you, this growth will be of value to you only to the degree that you can make this learning functional in your every day living. G. B. Chisholm has said, So 'far in the history of the world there have never been enough mature people in the right places. Human affairs are terribly topsy turvy today because we have entirely too many adults whose motives and responses are immature, infantile. They simply have not grown up. They have not developed steadiness of character nor do they have an adequate conviction of the meaning of life and the role they should play. May your annual make a contribution this year to motivate each of you to forge ahead in your powers of understanding and a grow- ing awareness of what is involved in what you do. 525412-44'LV4s Mr. Lester A. They have given freely of their time without remuneration. We are sincerely grateful for their interest in our welfare. , -we ,Queeg ..,.-J Mr. W. H.
