Good friends aren't easy to come by, nor is there an endless supply of them. Yet often, we tend to take friendships for granted and expect them to survive. The best friends are those who keep growing, who keep learning and trying and doing new things, who still have the capacity to surprise you now and then by disclosing a new facet to their life, their in- terests, their personality. A friendship can grow when you are reasonably honest and open about what you think and feel. A good friend looks for the best in the other person, en- courages the best, and expects the best. As a friend, you have the right to expect reciprocity from those to whom you give. Chances are you will encourage your friends to do the same. lf they don't, then you can let the friendship fade without feeling guilty. Thank you for this year and your friendship. Sincerely, John McRae PRINCIPAL Congratulations to the seniors of Roscoe High School on the completion of your public school education. May you continue to study in order to meet the requirements necessary to live in our fast changing times, and to accomplish the goals that you have set g for yourselves. My best wishes go with you for a happy and pro- sperous life ahead. Sincerely, Rudy Fiaughton

Strangely enough, the same can be said about America in 1981. We have learned more than any other generation, but we need to know so much more. School is the training ground where you acquire many of your needs. Make the most of this time. The world needs desperately for you to succeed. Sincerely yours, Jae? LV h U' 'x r fn l
