“SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On a September Day in 1949, Tom Anderson and Eddie Novak stumbled up the steps of Rosalie Public School. Larry Ahlers, Loren Ahlers, and Dennis Anderson joined the class in the second grade. During these first two enlightening years our teacher was Mrs. Frieda Copple. Mrs. Orr had to put up with us during the next three years. We five talked of going through school together. We were so proud because we had one of the few perfect classes in school (no girls). But, with the sixth grade came Karen Klintworth who made us rea- lize our mistaken thinking. Mrs. Elton Anderson was our teacher that year. Upon entering Junior High we met our able teacher for the next two years, MissAgnes Stanek. Barbara Slaughter, Mardie Ves- tal, and Dan Loofe joined us in the seventh grade. We lost Mardie in the 8th grade, but the remaining eight of us graduated from Junior High. In September, 1957, all of us but Dan entered high school. We greeted Katherine Krumwiede, Jackie Slaughter, Claire Johnson, and Wesley Gunderson this year. We all bravely took the rigid i- nitiation given by the sophomores. Our sponsor was Mrs. Marr and our officers were: President-Wes, Secretary-Tom, and Treasurer- Claire. As sophomores we achieved revenge by an initiation of the in- coming freshmen. With our sponsor, Coach Ostdiek, we ate at the Normandy in Sioux City, followed by the movie, Green Mansions . President-Larry, Secretary-Dennis, and Treasurer-Loren, made up our governing body. We were joined by Ronald Kramer in our Junior year. We sold $910.00 worth of magazines for our Senior fund. We presented our class play, Have Patience, Doctor , in the spring. We entertain- ed the seniors in May with a banquet and prom with a Stairway To The Stars theme. Our class officers were: Jackie- President, Barbara-Secretary, and Karen-Treasurer. Coach Sailors was our able sponsor this year. As seniors, we had our pictures taken at Genelli’s in Sioux City on September 14th. Afterwards we ate at Baxter’s and took a ride in an airplane. Mr. Beck was our sponsor during this all important last year of high school. We lost Dennis Anderson this year. Our class officers were: President-Karen, Secretary-Jackie and Treasurer-Barbara. Our motto was, The Ropes of the Past, Will Ring the Bells of the Future, and our colors were silver and light blue. Tom Anderson, Loren Ahlers, Larry Ahlers, and Eddie Novak started and finished at RHS.
