CUSS PROPHECY Page 2 After a few hours of searching Mr. Beck comes upon Don's house which is smack dab in the middle of the most expensive district in the town. Mr. Beck rings the door bell and sure enough the same old Don K. steps to the door dressed in the usual coveralls he always wore when he was a plumber back in Rosalie. He explains that they just kind of grew on him and that he can't seem to get them off. As they talk over old times, Mr. Beck finds out that Don has made millions with his cir- cus. He says that the people just love his wild west show and that he doesn't even charge admission. He says the way he makes all his money is by selling peanuts to feed to the.animals. And with all of these people buying feed for the animals, he doesn't have to feed them. After talking a while, Mr. Beck leaves Don's house. On the way to the car he runs into Mrs. Anderson. She explains to him that she is to see Don and find out what he is doing now-a-days. She says that she is now enployed at the rocket center at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Here she has the sometimes impossible job of teaching young airforce enlistees the task of rocket up-keep and maintenance. She explains that it is pretty hard work at times, but that she enjoys it. She says that she must hurry and see Don for a while and then get back on the job. As she leaves, Mr. Beck goes down town to have something to eat after a strenuous day of excitement. In the restaurant who should wait on him but Dorothy Canarskji Dorothy tells Mr. Beck that she is working here part time to earn money to put her through school. Mr. Beck asks her what kind of school and she replies that it is a school where you learn to model the new cloth ing that just came out this year. She explains that it is fashioned after the idea of Space Travel, and that it takes a girl with a very slim figure like hers to model the new style. After talking a while longer, Mr. Beck decides he should go home for a well-deserved rest. As he steps in the door of his eight-million-dollar house, he notices a person sitting on the couch, and it is Mrs. Marr. She tells him that since she was in the neighborhood she thought she would stop in and say hello. She explains that she travels a lot for a company which makes cars, and that she is an approved test driv- er for the large company. Her day is pretty hectic with all these women drivers and such. Right now she is testing the latest and newest model, which the company says is top secret. As the clock chimes, Mrs. Marr remembers that she ish't supposed to stop and visit with old friends. As she leaves, Mr. Beck retires to his basement where he has a multi-million dollar shop. Here he makes complex parts for extra secret rockets and the like. As Mr. Beck is working down in his shop, he hears this terrific noise outside. He hurries out to see what is going on. As he steps out to see what's going on he sees a rocket car coming down the street. Who should be leaving the black marks on the sidewalks—Mrs. Whitcomb. Mr. Beck flags her down, and she comes to a screeching standstill. She explains that she practices like this on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the drag races which are on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. On Sundays and special holidays she helps the street cleaner scrub the black marks off the sidewalks. And so we close this year's Class Pro- phecy with Mrs.Httitcomb scrubbing Mr. Beck's sidewalks. ■Charlene Perrin -Warren Franson Class of 1959
