“FIRST AND SECOND GRADE HISTOR! School began on September 3, 1951 with an enrollment of sixteen in the pussy rooms The first graders were Judy Gray, Johnny Hillman, Kenny Jackson, Tommy Short and Vernon lillhite. The second graders were Billy Burtchet, lax Graber, Carol Ann Griffith, Nelda Beuser, George Latta, Jessie Long, Freda McDaniel, Richard lcbaniel, Philip Strange, Gloria Swift, and layne Wilson. On September 22, Eddie Baucom enrolled in the first grade. On September 25 LeRoy Zimmerman enrolled in the second grade, but he withdrew from Rosalia Grades on December 3. Shirley Fetters enrolled in the first grade on October Sth. All the pupils entered the poster making contest for the Carnival. Philip Strange won first place. Carol Ann Griffith won second place. Nelda Houser and Judy Gray tied for third place. At Christmas the pupils had a tree and gift exchange in their room. They also took the part of the angels in the Christmas Pageant. Ie had some very nice birthday parties during the school year. In February we had a party and Valentine box. We have had a pleasant school year. We will miss the second graders nextyeer but we will welcome the new first graders that will join us in September. ----Irs. Margaret Clark THIRD AID FOURTH GRADE HISTORY School began September 3, 1951 with sixteen pupils enrolled. The nine third graders were: Dean Bender, Vernon Clarkson, Charles Cronk, Betty Kimball, Peggy Keplar, Jay Latta, lirla lauricio, Harold leadoo, and lelvin Parscal. The seven pupils in the fourth grade were: Sherril Graber, Eldon Houser, Billy Jackson, Louise loadoo, Edna IcDan1els, Barbara Head, and Myrtle lehry. Barbara lead was just with us three weeks when she moved to Oil Hill and entered school there. Barbara Fetters enrolled in the third grade and her sister, Thelma entered.dn fourth grade October 8th. They had been attending St. John's school in Iola, Kansas. Shirley White, who had been attending the Cedar Vale schools enrolled in the third grade November Sth. Paul Horton, a student from Ripley Co. lissouri entered the fourth grade Nov. 20th. ----Irs. larie Harsh
