11 Uur Buildin Rises The year of 1953 will be remembered for many things. This was the year that a Republican President was inaugurated, the west coast finally beat the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl and most important of all, this is the year we graduated. Our first impression of the school was perhaps not all that it should have been, for we must have looked like one-armed sleep walkers the day our class rings arrived. This impression, however, was corrected when we threw our first dance, PIGSKIN PARADE. We really kept the school on their toes as we put on another dance, THE SENIOR FAREWELL. This was our tribute to the graduating class of that year. Our Spook House at the County Fair gave the Hcreeps' ' in our class a chance to shine. And shine they did. We turned the school from shrieks of terror to shrieks of laughter when the curtain parted on our Junior Play, OUR HEARTS WERE YOUNG AND GAY. Everyone was in the pink as we presented our J-Hop WE PREFER PARIS. After walking through the Arch de Trumph, our eyes fell upon the Eifel Tower which gave that Parisian feeling to a beautifully decorated gym. Now we are seniors, and our first project was the Homecoming Dance. The dance with its Queen and Court along with a winning football team made homecoming all that it should be. 7 'f P L 'rfb 46 i. I

l In The Year 19. 5 The actors in our class again took over as we presented our Sr. Play, PINK STRING AND SEALING WAX. The Pink string was turned into Xmas ribbon and sealing wax to the glue on Xmas card envelopes as we threw our Xmas Cabaret Dance, THE HOLIDAY RUSH. January 22 wasanight of mixed emotions as 77 of our class graduated. lt's rumored that many received 2 certificates, one headed congratulations, and the other greetings Many of the January grads returned, however, to help make our Sr. Prom a big hit. The wall of the gym actually shimmered and shook as beautiful harem girls carried out our theme of the Arabian Nights. We called this, our final class activity, A THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS. We got our first clue that graduation was drawing near when we had to choose our class colors. Many of the mechanicalboys wanted Primor and Chrome but Navy blue and Powder blue finally won out. The January Class colors had been Wine and White. lt's now June 11, the night of our graduation. Many of our class must feel like this year's Republican party, for we, like the Republicans, finally made it. As you look through this annual, remember the faces and names of our graduating class. For I am sure that before very long, many will have made a name for them- selves in drawing BLUEPRINTS OF PROGRESS!
