Today is D Day. You begin with your second period class. A new, flexi- ble schedule was introduced at Roose- velt this year. Students were enrolled in seven classes. These were rotated consecutively five per day, making a complete cycle every seven days. The extra hour in the day was used for E or Enrichment period. The depart- ments received priority for certain days, enabling them to call all their students together for special lectures and films. ASR was also able to use E period for assemblies, Student Council, and other meetings. In the new schedule, students were required to take live subjects and were allowed six or seven with faculty per- mission. Many students completed their program with a class from the Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Business or Art department.
