Committees Aid School Students chosen by faculty and committee members tor outstanding achievement are pictured in the Hall ot Fame display case by the Library. Ethical Conduct Committee promoted honesty, especially in regard to tests, by using blackboard slogans, showcase displays, and speakers who visited Sophomore classes at the beginning ot the year. As a result ot one ot the activities ofthe Lunchroom Committee, the Lunchroom was given a name for the first time in the history ot Roosevelt . . . The Rim Room. Because the Study Halls are large, it is necessary that certain capable students assume the responsibility ot helping the teachers take roll, this is the iob ot the Study Checkers. Activity Recording Committee serves as a check to prevent over-participation in extra-curricular activities. However, Thrift Committee tries to encourage over- participation, in banking. During the month of January it sponsored a drive to increase the number of students who bank. The theme of the drive was Bank now . . . spend later. Study supervisors hold an ASR appolntive office and work directly with Advisory Council. Their main purpose is not to punish a student, but merely to bring his offense to the attention of the student himself. Alumni Committee keeps the record of past and present Roosevelt students up-to-date each year.
