I The newly organized Jewish Club has been under the sponsorship of Miss Clantz and Mr. Hind. The purpose of this club. open to all Jewish students. is mainly cultural. Lectures. music. drama. and literature arc a few of the activities sponsored and presented by this club. An outstanding activity is their semi-annual outing. which was this year a picnic given at Miss Clantzis ranch house. I The Latin Club tfilassica Societasl encourages the use of Latin and increases the knowledge of life in Roman times. The minutes are kept in Latin. thc- officers have Latin names. There are two consuls. a Praetor. a Quaestor. and a Curile Aedile. Latin games are played at the meetings and refreshments. when served are only thoic which would be known to the Romans. I The French Club was organized with a cultural as well as a social purpose in mind some eight years ago. its aim was then and is now the presentation of an opportunity for tht- practical application of their knowledge of French to the French students of Roosevelt High School. Only students having had at least two semesters of French are accepted for membership. Q The Spanish Cluliis aims are to stimulate interest in the Spanish language. and in the literature and culture of Spain and Spanish Americag to give students of native Spanish speech the opportunity of using their native languageg to enable Spanish speaking students and students interested in the Spanish language to meet at informal social functions.
