9' wl g Herbert Gage gives a Tongue lashing to Johathan Rockwood over the ownership of the house. Junior Play 'ilanuary Thaw , a comedy written by William Roos, which enjoyed a successful run on Broadway, also pleased many ofthe members of Roosevelt's student body as it was presented by the class ot l96l. A plot concerning the ownership at a Connecticut colonial home set the scene for many a humorous situation. Herbert and Marge Gage, portrayed by Alan Hubbart and Yvonne Dwelle, in their search for a home discover and decide to buy a house once belonging to Jonathan and Mathilda Rockwood, played by Larry Dick and Car- linda Jewell, and their son, Mat Rockwood, played by Bill Martin. Just as the Gages, their three daugh- ters, played by Joyce Carpenter, Carolyn Faulkner, and Eva Altintop, and Freida, the housekeeper, portrayed by Gloria Hane- mian, move in, the Rockwoods who myster- iously disappeared six years betore, return- ed. As the play progressed, more interest- ing and colortul characters appeared. They were Uncle Walter, George Husted, the ti- ance ot the eldest of the Gage daughters. Constable Carson, the local peace officer, and Mr. Loomis a lawyer hired by Mrs. Gage to settle the argument. ?ZP'y7 'w re I Herbert Gage works diligently on his novel through thick and thin. 00
