Dedication Since this is the first year Roosevelt has participated in the foreign exchange student program, the Nautilus staff is honored to dedicate to Agnes Gouda and Marcello Mazza this record of your senior year. Last fall you entereid a completely new environment, eager to learn as much as pos- sible about America-its customs, habits and people. ln turn we also were eager to learn about you and your countries. Through these exchanges of ideas our generation will have a greater opportunity to insure peace, and generations to come will be able to live together in better mu- tual respect. ln our hands lies the future success of foreign relations, we here at Roosevelt with you, Agnes and Marcello, have taken a great step forward to develop these growing ties of friendship. ln this book you will take home a part of each of us, for this book is every student at Roosevelt. In Recognition Mrs. Mary Mowrey, Mr. J. Wiley Hud- son, and Mrs. Katherine Pavlovich, the Roos- evelt student body would like to thank you for the time and effort you have put forth to make Roosevelt more enioyable. We, the students, would like to show our gratitude by presenting this page of recognition to you. Enjoying every minute of her work as Head Cook for the past l5 years is Mrs. Mowrey. She and seven helpers work from 6:30 to 3:30 every day to prepare the day's meal and the week's menu. During her l5 years at Roosevelt she has managed many banquets, some as large as l,OOO people. Students coming to school by way of Tulare Street may see one of the most en- ergetic teachers at Roosevelt, Mr. Hudson, walking to school. Energetic is only one word to describe Mr. Hudson who has had approximately 30 years of schooling and has taught for lil years. He has majored in seven fields and minored in five. Another devoted member of the ad- ministration in Mrs. Katherine Pablovich the school nurse. Mrs. Pablovich has served Roosevelt in this capacity for l2 years. Mrs. Pablovich is a graduate of St. Mary's school of nursing in San Franciso where she was the supervisor on the Surgical floor. High- lighting her years at Roosevelt was her trip with the band to Squaw Valley.
