A11 decisions are made and backed by the main ques- lion, - what is the best for the students? Many of the important policy-making responsibilities are establishing of the school budget, approving the employment of all professional employees, and establishing the rules and regulations under which all school operations are scheduled and performed. You may see your- self gazing out the window at a beautiful spring day while a teacher explains in a monotonous voice the difference between inflation and deflation or why x equals y. You may find yourself sitting entranced as he explains why Hamlet was mad. You had favor- ite teachers and favorite subjects. You were given assignments you didn't mind doing and those which you dreaded. Although you may not have realized it, your teachers and your textbooks were preparing you for the adult world you would face when you left the classroom. Another vital part of school is what happens be- hind the scenes.
