Blarney an - Cofmle . ated - . .ghti se Left to fl E xskh The Roosevelt Debate team has a very successful season this and joan Ta e year being one of the District winners and brought home a wall Benneu' plaque for their Alma Mater. Under the coaching of Mr. Marvin Hauk, the squad won five out of six tries in their seasonal debates, taking two debates from Warren High School, two from Inkster High School, and one from St. Clair Shores. On February 24th, the Roosevelt debators were represented in the District Debating Tournament at Howell, Michigan where they edged out by Allen Park. Tuesday, March 24th, Roosevelt played host to three other schools for a Spring Forensic Contest. Roosevelt won a first in the Declamation contest given by JoAnn Tafelski. Robert Bennett and David Fox were seconds in the Original Oratory. On Friday, April 24th, the debators were honor guests at a Forensic Luncheon given at the University of Michigan by the Detroit Free Press to all the District Winners of the state.
