Cfliiile Ciirtiiurixburi, and C?i1'Ol Uunmyef- onme 13 ' v r ' The varsity cheerleaders this year consists of three seniors, four juniors and one sophomore. Rose Ann Lombard and Carol Dunmyer are leading the girls this year as co-captains. The girls cheered at all the football and basketball games. They also cheered at some of the tournament games. In the first of November the girls of the squad went to the University of Michigan for a cheerleading exhibition. The varsity cheerleaders have new sweaters this year. They are white with the red trim. Their skirts are still black. The girls have made over and written quite a few new cheers. The cheers are very clever but the way the cheers are done is what really puts them over and makes them such a hit with the students. The purpose of the cheerleader is to im- prove school spirit and get more students to come to the games. The squad has done a wonder- X ful job and are imcomparable with any other cheer- 6 leaders. co C-: .- ERWIN JEWE LERS 27427 Michigan Ave. LO-2-0030

mlxso The High School Chorus was organized in the Winter of 1952 by Mrs. Campeau, music instructor. This year the chorus has developed splendiclly into fine group. The students have worked fairly hard, and most of them take their music instructors seriously. During the past year they have taken part in various programs. Such as: entertaining the parents, they took part at the Open - House at school, sang in the P. T. A. Christmas party at McNair, sang Carols for the students at Xmas time, gave a Spring concert and they will also sing for graduation. 'Die Chorus has visited the Masonic Temple, to listen to concerts twice this year. Considering the newness of the group, chonu Roosevelt has a perfect right to be proud of the job this young group has achieved.
