JU ICR C ASS We, the class of '60, have had a very busy year, with an activity practically every month. In September, we had a car wash. The following month, we gave a Halloween party for the school. In December, we put on our play "Nuts in May." Later during the month we gave a party for our parents. We sold hot dogs and pop at all of the spectator sports. In April we presented a "Teen Times," and in May, the Senior Ball. This last spring, thanks to the advice of the Senior Class, we started on our edition of the Arrowhead. Our class has run smoothly because of the guidance of our advisor Miss Neubert, and because of our class officers. The class officers are as follows: President, Sandy Hilimireg Vice-President, Frank Case, Secretary, Phyllis Harbin, Treasurer, Kathy Tomkins. These past three years have been busy and have gone by quickly. XVe hope that our Senior year will be as successful as that of the Class of '59. During the second semester, Kathy Dennis, from Interlaken, and Mary Lou Kren- zer, from Greece, New York, joined our class of 34 members. During the first semester, we sold pens and "letterhounds" as a fund-raising pro- ject. We also presented at one-act pantomime, "Goldilocks the Door" for the entertain- ment of the high school. On March 21, we held our round and square dance. The music was furnished by the "Rhythm Airs." During the latter part of the year, we ordered our class rings and are anticipating their arrival next year. Ellen, Bill, Judy, and Dave. Fin: Roux' Mrs. McKenna, M. L. Bristol, B. Covert, M. A. Case J A Cinderella story - that's what the 1958 Romulus gridiron success was. Starting this year with three lettermen and a host of small and inexperienced boys, dominated in numbers by Frosh and Seniors, Coach Fennell whipped up a team that led Romulus to one of the best seasons in the school's history. The ace up the Warrior's sleeve was that the three lettermen comprised the Romulus backfield. Although the line was thorough- ly inexperienced at the beginning of the season, as the team rolled over one oppon- wart wall. The scores were as follows: Romulus Interlaken Romulus Van Etten Romulus Dundee Romulus Odessa Romulus Ovid LAKES REGION CON F EREIN CE CHAMPIONS 'Leon .Dan ' Logan ' Gerald ' Jon ' Dave I-01130 Lloyd Ed Jerry ' Member! of the lake: Region All Star Team Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus Romulus 27 29 30 1 1 ' -:si 1' A 'ly' VARSITY BASKETBALL Clockwire: G. Coach: Mr. Curtiss. The '58-'59 junior Varsity team started with two lettermen and three others with J. V. experience. They finished 2nd in the league. The inexperienced boys had spirit and were willing to learn. Mr. Curtiss expects to do very well next year with a more experienced team. Managers V. johnson, R. Gambee, E. Waugh. Coach: Mr. Alvaro. Romulus started the '58-'59 basketball season with three lettermen, Fred Kaufman, Ken Kaufman, and Logan Watson. Although Coach Alvaro had a good nucleus with Lew Hicks and Leon Kreutter, also returning with varsity experience, he had con- siderable rebuilding to do to replace the big men. Frank Case, Ken Colegrove, Dave Coryell, and Dan Gable rounded out the remaining nine members of the squad. The Warriors in general had an up and down season with a record of 13-6 to finish 3rd in the league. The loss to T-Burg C40-381 in the last 15 sec- onds on their court was the first major defeat in the league play. Romulus was then downed twice by Odessa, and once by Dundee. The Warriors went into the post-season play- offs against favored T-Burg, only to trounce the Blue Raiders, 46-35. Romulus then entered the second game against Odessa for a spine-tingling upset over the heavily favored Indians. Romulus, then having won the Class C title, played Kendall in the Section 5 quarterfinals, but bowed to the CGenessee-Orleansb Eagles 54-42.
