English With the new policy concerning the writing development of students, the fo- cus of English is justifiably on composi- tion. Literature plays a part as an appre- ciation of what constitutes good writing, as seen in the classic pieces of fiction. It can often be a stepping stone to improved student compositions. The English de- partment, under the capable leadership of Garry Poe, has established the link be- tween students ' written expression and literary awareness. The result is that an RH student acquires a strong background in both reading and writing skills.
