alnouf 7-lme Glass The senior class of 1951 is, and has been an outstanding class. To show something of what this class has meant to the school, we shall list some of the honors and achieve- ments ofa few of the livewires of the class. John Wolfe, president of the class, playing fullback For the Mounties, probably set a new record by playing every minute of every game of the season. John was Jr. Ro- tarian for December, and was voted outstanding personality for the same month. Allen Ferrell, vice-president of the class and co-captain of the football team, is tops in class work as well as in sports. In spite of the fact that he had his nose broken twice during the season, he did all of the punting for Rogers and ended the season with a 31 yard average. Leroy Fleeman held down the right end position for Rogers and ran a fumble for a touchdown against Van Buren. Leroy haslettered in football two years, basketball three years, and in track one year. Vida Cummins, secretary-treasurer of the Blue Demon pep squad and circulation man- ager of the school paper, was selected by the football team to reign as queen over the home-coming game in which the Mounties defeated the Webb City Cardinals, John Hawkins, business manager ofthe annual staff, vice-president of the Library Club, a member of the Spanish Club for four years is another outstanding Senior. Mariorie Ford, probably the busiest senior, was editor of the yearbook, co-editor of the school paper, senior council member, and secretary-treasurer of the F,H,A. Mar- iorie was voted Best Citizen by a faculty poll . This class is fortunate in having two exchange students from Germany as members. They are Winfried Baer of Bad Neustadt, Bavaria and Klaus Roggenkamp of Stuttgart, Germany. Both of these boys have been in great demand as speakers before civic clubs and other organizations. Seven of the ten members composing the yearbook staff are seniors. Eight seniors were members of the Press Club. We could go on, and on, and on, but space will not premit.
