Miss Patricia A. Schrock, Miss Virginia Richmond, Mrs. Sara C. Walther i Admiring the great Manolete and owning one million pairs of shoes, Miss Schrock began her first year of teaching at Rocky River High School. Ohio State is her alma mater, although she has also studied at the Mexico City College. Miss Schrock knows even the little known facts about little known Spaniards. ' lt is inconceivable that Latin would be a dead language today if the Romans who spoke it had been anything like the teacher who teaches it, Miss Richmond's down- to-earth humor almost makes it come alive. Familiarity with French, German, Greek and, of course, Latin ishe even speaks itll testify to her linguistic ability. She has added a third year Latin class this year and is one of the Friendship Club advisers. Cyn .el 1-'S ,ff Bonjour classef' Mrs. Walther has a fluency in French that occasionally carries into the following period's study hall and a pro- hciency in knitting that has consumed yarn sufficient to reach from here to France. She has an apparently in- exhaustible supply of candy bars and the coeadvisership of the Neophyte-Thespians. She has, also, an ability to analyze handwriting and strew her belongings. The source of an occasional cookie smell and the fashion center of RRHS is room 202, headquarters of the home economics depart- ment and its adviser, Miss Whaling. Sewing projects lead to the spring style show, and baking proiects lead, at least occasionally, to the departments' deepfreeze. Besides the work in her department, Miss Whaling is president of the Rocky River's Educators Association and an adviser to the Friendship Club. Miss Delphine E. Whaling

Miss Patricia L. Armstrong It would be interesting if Miss Armstrong, our librarian, did not like to read. However, she does. She also likes to tell amusing stories, to be ot assistance, to travel, and to work at Lakewood Hospital on weekends. With the coming of snow, the possibility always exists that the year will be completed with a substitute for Miss Armstrong. Miss Armstrong likes to ski. To Rocky River from Parma High came, this year, a most unusual man-a choir director who also sings. Mr. Shurtlett spends his afternoons at Beach School and his mornings at the high school, preparing the choir tor one ot its 8 195768 engagements. Tennis, swimming, and membership in the tenor section of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus are some of Mr. Shurtlett's interests. 'ml l've got a great ideal And sure enough, Mr. Thomas, versatile musician and hat wearer, does. The halt-time shows by the band are different. They are also good, for Mr, Thomas obviously believes that the primary function of a band is to be heard, and above par music is the result. l have one pound of apples and one pound of peaches. A man of great patience is Mr. Bridenbaugh. He leads through the maze of elements and compounds, electrons and protons though many falter. It is a mystery how he manages the amateur chemist, whose mistakes range from a schoolful of sulphur fumes to the inevitable explosion, Patience is aided by periods of hunting and fishing. Mr, Bridenbaugh is secretaryetreasurer of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Wow, we're really making progress! Physics, a scientific course dealing with all types of energy and its practical applications, is taught energetically by Mr. Maxwell. Adviser of the Photography Club and a photography enthusiast, Mr. Maxwell, with camera, is a common sight. 16 Mr. Marsclon U. Grubb Most of Mr. Grubb's interests are in things that grow-tropical fish in the aquarium, plants in the growing room, a large garden at home, and students in the classroom.
