HELEN THORSEN Senior Adviser Mrs. Helen Thorsen, senior adviser, helps plan the senior mixer the senior prom and the futures of many puzzled students Although this was her first year as ad viser she isnt new to East For almost ten years she was a member of our social science department She completed her undergraduate work at Rockford College and received her Masters Degree at Co lumbla Un1vers1ty RUTH WHITE J unzor Advzser In add1t1on to being Junior adviser some of Miss Ruth Ann Whites duties include supervising class act1v1t1es and rec ommendmg Juniors for Jobs and special recognitions Travel IS one of Miss Whites chief IH terests Last summer m a tour around the world she visited schools in Japan the Philippines and India She received her A B degree from De Pauw Un1vers1ty and her M A from Co lumbia Un1vers1ty JOHN SWANSON Sophomore Aduzser Planning the Sophomore Party direc ting the election of class officers and teachmg daily guidance classes are only three of the many things Mr Swanson has done dunng his first year as Sopho more adviser Prior to coming to East hlgh he was asslstant director boys counselor and freshman sophomore basketball coach at Wheaton Academy in Chicago 1 iff
