Attending Queen Sally Olander were runners-up Connie Swen- son and Pat Erickson. To begin the half-time activities of the Elgin-East football game, the East High band marched onto the field and played a song for the queen candidates. The parade of decorated floats, sponsored by various school organizations, was followed by the presentation of the bouquet of roses to the queen. Harvest Moon was the title of the Homecoming dance held in the school gymnasium immediately fol- lowing the football game. The gym was decorated in shades of yellow and brown, with corn stalks, and pumpkins. Suspended from the ceiling in the center of the dance floor, was a huge amber moon. Dancing in the gym was to the music of Bill Engberg's orches- tra. The crowning of the queen at the dance climaxed the eveningis festivities at East High's fifth annual Homecoming.
