FOOTBALL Seven lettermen and an encouraging number of recruits enthusiastically answered the initial call of our new mentor, Howard Bash, and his assistant, Leonard Stensaas. ' Activities began with the usual two weeks' practice at Newfork Lake. Several prospects were added to the line up, and on a rain-soaked Rawlins' field the football season officially opened. Tiger fans witnessed many thrillers during an exciting season, especially the traditional Armistice Day game with G River, in which the Wolves carried away the district title. Buchan, Beveridge. BASKETBALL The Tigers broke even during the basketball season by winning eleven and losing eleven of the twenty-two games scheduled. The games played with Green River and Superior proved to be the most thrilling of the season. We entered the finals of the District Tournament by playing Superior for first place. The Orange and Black won by the narrow margin of 28-30. Buchan was the senior member of the team to place on the All-District Team. At State Tournament in Casper our boys proved they could take it with the best of them by battling through to fifth place. Taucher was named to the All-State Team. Dec. 19 . . .. .
