BASKETBALL The Rock Springs basketball team bega n the season with exceedingly bright prospects, since Coach Dowler had five lettermen around which to build his team. The Tigers completed their schedule by w inning twenty-two of the twenty-nine games played, thereby annexing the conference championship. They again proved their mettle when they won the EWstrict Tournament at Green Riven by defeating the strong Superior quintet 33 to 24 in the finals. Reese and Katana were named on the all-district team. Our aggregation entered the state tournament with high confidence. In the opening round Rock Springs won from Buffalo 37 to 15 and went through the second round with a decisive 47 to 28 victory over Manderson. In the Bemt-finals the Tigers trounced the Cheyenne Indians 41 to 16 and proceeded to the finals, where they defeated the Laramie Plainsmen 25 to 19, bringing home the cov¬ eted tKle of State Champions. Katana, Reese, and Dickson were placed on the all-state team.
