SALFRANK, Sponsor l MR. HIGHTOWER MRS. HIGHTOWER MR. D'ALESSlO Sponsor Sponsor Sponsor This last year was a busy one for the senior class of '65, and one that they will remember for the rest of their lives. The first big event of the year was an undefeated football season, the first since 1954. The senior play and the senior chili supper kept them busy selling tickets while the studies were piled on at a steady pace. Another memorable event was the Regional Basketball Tournament in which Rock Port won the second-place trophy. Every minute added more hard work and more fun, but the day that a new student body president was elected was the day that the sen- iors realized that they would not be around next year. It was then that the end-of-the-year activities for the seniors began. There was the senior trip to Chicago, Baccalaureate, Awards Assembly. Class Day, and the day that they had been waiting for for twelve years, Graduation. HEY fellows, that tickles. No. no! I just don't believe it. 'f' g Get in step, fellows. 1-2 -3 -4, 1-2 -3 -4. Wanamaker The children's year in Mrs. Tiemeyer's room was highlighted by birthday parties given by the students. After the traditional birthday song. the children played games and feasted on cupcakes and pop. The students in Miss Proudfit's room had great fun learning to count by twos, fives, and tens by playing a dart game. They also enjoyed the birthday parties of their fellow students. J. SENIOR TRIP On Friday, May 14, fifty seniors and seven sponsors left the school house for Red Oak, Iowa. At Red Oak, the group boarded a train for Chicago. They rode the train all night and arrived in Chicago at 8:30 a. m. Saturday. All day Saturday they toured Chicago. They visited McCormick Place, Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, Skid Row, and other points of interest. Saturday night they traveled home on the train. There were fifty tired seniors and seven tired sponsors but they all had had a good time. Rise and shine' It s only two a m No wonder we didn't have any pop on the way back. The coaches drank it all. Jim had so much trouble going to sleep that Randy had to rock him Richard started eating at the depot and didn't stop throughout the entire trip. Some new couples turned up on the scene. too. Jim and Goldie pause for refreshment. Martha and Tom match wits with Ike in a game of cards. ' E ! 9 3 Bob woke up just long enough for this picture. The seniors wonder how long the sponsors really did stay awake. Peggy Herron receiving the Good School Mr. Mortensen has just awarded Cindy Citizen Award from Mrs. Shaw.
