Concert Choir sings in tune Could Piper Engman be experiencing a case of stage fright?!! Dean Hasselroth and Julie Andresen are definitely interested-but in what? Concert Glee, another group select¬ ed through auditions, also per¬ formed at school assemblies and programs. This group combines with the other glees to form a 120 voice chorus. Many of the members are vocally talented and did well at state competition. Concert Glee Concert Glee officers are Jane Carlson, librarian, Lori Lear, president, and Karen Troll, secretary- treasurer. Band officers are: Lori Lear, Secretary; Diane Soady, President; Janis Petrilli, Treasurer; and Bill DePaepe, Vice President. Tony Vogel watches the " saxy " Patti Huisman. When Maureen Hurlbutt hollars, everyone listens. Consisting of 75 members, the concert band displays its ware s at several home concerts each year, and entertains the student body at various school assemblies. Individual members of the band take part in the Augustana and Quad- Cities Honor Band Festivals and solo and en¬ semble contest. A number of the band mem¬ bers also add distinction to our band through their participation in the All-District and All- State Festivals held each year. Equally adept at Bach or Rock, the concert band provides the backbone for all the bands, from pep band to marching band. Concert Band 17!

Barbershop Girl ' s Glee Choir 181 Gleeful Girls Boisterous Boys Girl ' s Glee Jack Rasley, author of the Rock Island High School Alma Matter, returned this past fall to lead a chorus of Rocky alumni and cur¬ rent students in a salute to the stadium ' s 50 year anniversary. Barbershop members are, Row 1: April Griffiths, Diana Noldet, Pat Moore, Lisa Milefchic, Linda Tobin, Ellen Meincke, Lisa Pirch. Row 2: Kevin Ford, Lisa Cong- don, Nancy Weeks, Me, Piper Engman, Karen Troll, Steve Ga- lusha. Row 3: David Ross, Calvin Moore, Bart Montgomery, Tom Brower, Dean Hasselroth, Tom DeSmet, Tracey Kelly, Bob Blomberg, Paul O ' Meara, Arthur Itis, Britt Montgomery. Girl’s Glee members are. Row 1; Lisa Congdon, Liz Paliki, Tammy Dennis, Sandy Waller, Jacki Newberrry, April Griffiths, Elisha Foulks, Diane Amerson, Linda Fox. Row 2; Pat Morre, Jane Wil¬ helm, Carrie M. Wilson, cyndie Balch, Sherry Brooks, Mindy Ig- lehart, Diana Noldet, Lisa Milef- chik, Mr. Maurus. Officers are, Lisa Congdon, librarian, Cyndie Balch, president, and Pat Moorey, secretary treasurer. Girls ' Glee sings special musical ar¬ rangements written for two sopra¬ nos and one alto part. This group performed for all the school con¬ certs, and this year joined the Cham¬ ber and Concert Glee Clubs in a Christmas concert at two downtown banks. SING LOW The Barbershop group this year was enhanced by the addition of female voices. Many girls enjoyed the tradi¬ tional male four-part harmony style. These two groups performed at civic meetings and small business meet¬ ings as weii as at Rocky programs. SING HIGH
