Rocky ' s art department selects ten or twelve students each year to participate in a gifted art program. To be selected, students must take special tests and receive teacher recommen¬ dations. Those chosen participate in off-cam- pus instruction with architects, designers and artists, students, in order to continue in this gifted program, must respond in a sensitive and rigorous manner reflected by high-quality productions. Rocky’s chorus classes are once again singing in full voice under the skillful direction of Mr. Maurus. As this veteran of RIHS, returning after twenty- one years, put it. “When you’re singing, you’re not mad at anyone.” Mr. Maurus hopes to involve incoming sophomores in this ‘‘singing, swinging school” by having high school ensembles per¬ form at the junior high level.
