Crimson Crier Due to an exceptionally small staff, THE CRIMSON CRIER was headed by an Editor-in-chief during the Fall semester with the staff returning to normal numbers with the second semester. A variety of features were written for the In-Depth pages by the Fall staff, ranging from supporting school projects to features for fun. One spread supported the Eng¬ lish department ' s Book Drive, while another ex¬ plored the latest high school dating habits. Introduced this year as as service to students is two new columns including ON THE ROCKS, listing student council activities; and BOARD NOTES, pro¬ viding a forum for student board members. A new sports column called FORTNIGHTLY NETTER was introduced to honor a basketball player every two weeks. THE CRIER was com¬ mended three different times during 1976 by the ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALIST, the publi¬ cation of the Illinois State High School Press Associa¬ tion, for outstanding work in journalism. First Semester Writing Staff; Dennis Meagher, Doug Breiby, Tom Plaisance, Brian Staes, Pat Kelly, Beth Wright and Rick King. Missing from picture are: Gary Phillips, Shawn Kelly and Lane Koester. Harriet Galex, Cathy Barnett and Terry Gorsuch discuss the results of the paper.
