Accuracy and Talent Are Important to Band The Rock Island High School Bands combine musical talent with hard work and practice. In¬ dividuals in band are divided into two groups according to their ability; the concert and sym¬ phonic bands. Throughout the year these groups are subdivided into woodwind choir , woodwind quintet, brass choir and brass quin¬ tet. During the fall a morning walk to Rocky may quicken to the tune of a Sousa march or the school song provided by the marching band practicing for Friday ' s football game. Toward change, girls are playing in the stage band for the first time this year. 1. Members of the band anxiously await half time activities. 2. Members of the Symphonic Band are FIRST ROW: A.
