BSU Strives for Better Relations " Be on my side and I ' ll be on yours. " This is the motto of Black Student Union and Cultural Socie¬ ty. The goal of the club is to make people aware of the cultural habits and contributions of the Black so¬ ciety. To create this awareness they have directed their attention to¬ ward educational activities. Trips to Chicago, Normal, Eastern III. U., were included. Also, canned goods drives, and a talent show were part of the B.S.U.C.S. agenda. 1. Members of the Black Student Union sell goodies at their bake sale. 2. Literary Club Works Toward Writing a Novel Literary Club gives creative high school au¬ thors and poets a chance to share their works. Meeting once a month, the members discuss their own literary attempts as well as those of published authors. One of their selections was Kurt Vonnegut ' s Slaughterhouse Five. Their goal is to publish and distribute a magazine of their own works. 1. Literary Club members are, LEFT TO RIGHT: Jana Beinke, Jon Jones, and Linda Snowden. 2. Literary Club discusses a member ' s poetic efforts. 3. Jeff Dennis brings about a point of symbolism contained in the book Slaughterhouse Five. 34 Literary Club

Campus Life Members Enjoy Rap Sessions Campus Life strives to meet the needs of the changing student in helping to develop a well rounded individual through physical, mental, and spiritial aspects; with emphasis on the spir¬ itual aspects. Meetings consist of games, discus¬ sion, rap up by a leader and refreshments. Top¬ ics of discussion range as people ' s imaginations differ; including women in the Bible, E.S.P., sui¬ cide, and the Christian life, to mention a few. Campus life is open to all students and is inter¬ ested in a variety of ideas and opinions. Be¬ tween fun and knowledge through talking Campus Life caters to all. 7. Officers of Campus Life are Jamy Schneider and Craig Blomberg. 2. Kathy Wilson and Paul Morgan arrive at a Campus Life meeting antic¬ ipating a fun evening. 3.
