AFS Bridges The Gap Between Nations AFS at Rocky is an extension of the American Field Service International Scholarship program throughout the world. AFS promotes under¬ standing of self, sensitivity to those who are dif¬ ferent, and increased awareness of the forces that shape those differences. It brings together people who differ in important ways, yet have something valuable to share. Rocky hosts indi¬ viduals from Iceland and Australia. During the summer Rock Island shared its part of the U.S. with the Philippines. Founded in 1914 and con¬ stantly expanding, AFS is an experience in hu¬ man relationships. 7.
