Math Minds Delve Deeper Fraction Faction. A club with relevancy in the foreground, a club to match the times in an industrial, clog-reeling, button-punching age, a club unique in its purpose to acquaint students with modern mathematical applications and to work with man’s best friend, the computer. Under the direction of a quintet of sponsors, the approximately thirty members of Fraction Faction planned their year ' s activities, manipulating time to the best advantage. Trips were made to the Cordova Atomic Energy Plant, the Iowa City Computer Center, the Augustana Planetarium, and other computer centers. Also on the agenda were visitations from CPA ' s and businessmen to be exposed to various accounting systems. A Christmas party and spring picnic were offered as comic relief.

Rocky Ski Club Members Anxiously Await Winter Imagine flashing down a hillside at 60 miles an hour, gasp¬ ing for breath from the biting air, blinded by the snow flying past. Or maybe, stumbling down the same slope at an immeas¬ urable crawl, searching for a breath after your fall, blinded by your own tears? It ' s all in the fun of Ski Club, a strictly sport¬ ing group. Through skiing trips to Alpine Valley and Chestnut Hills, the beginner has many opportunities to better himself, the expert, to exhibit his talents. Ski members are easily identified on Mondays following skiing week-ends leaving at 4:30 a.m., sporting all day, and returning late that nite result in usual fatigue. TOP LEFT: Loading the car for a ski trip can be a real job. Especially if the car is a Volkswagon. CENTER RIGHT: Officers of Ski Club are Rob Schaab, President: Jim Cox, Vice-President; and Martha Johnston, Secre¬ tary-Treasurer. OPPOSITE RIGHT: Chris Buckles loses control when skiers fall in her path. ABOVE: Pam Olson struggles with her boots as she gets ready for the slopes. 48
