Camera Club offers outlet for shutterbugs a poem can be pictorial, a photo¬ graph can capture a mood, an emotion, as well as " a thousand words. " the camera can record truths that last only a moment and pre¬ serve them for many years. photographers can be artists, philosophers, or reporters with their cameras, the aspect of these cameras, of the art of photography in all its phases—this was the con¬ cern of the camera club. Camera Club officers Carita Stevens, Ted Stone, Jeff Romeo, and Carlene Bingamon pause in the dark room to check negatives. Caught in the act by another camera is Bob Miller, a camera club member. Alan Hudson and his candid camera are on the move catching unaware students. 61

Radio Club officers are John Kitler, Ted Stone, Craig Sandusky, and Manny Day. Mr. Armstrong displays an expression of puzzled amazement. Science Council controls concessions this is the age of the atom as well as the age of Aquarius, and tomorrow ' s Einsteins are today ' s Science Council mem¬ bers. each month, meeting, speaking in formulas, in equa¬ tions, in theorems, speaking in intelligence. and still, not wholly cere¬ bral, still able to appreciate the pleasures of life, picnics, football, steak fry. refresh¬ ments. learning, pondering, discussing, enjoying, this is the Science Council. Sheryl Greve, Art Breck, Debbie Stone, and Carlene Bingamon are Science Council officers. 60

Debators prove debate an asset to rocky status quo vs. change, de¬ bate. interference abroad " hands off " policy, first af¬ firmative: " gentlemen, my colleague and I submit to you . . . " first negative: " contrary to what our opponent has led you to believe . . . " second affirmative: from u.s. news and world report ... " second negative: " from a speech by lyndon johnson . . . " rebuttal cross-examination argument persuasion logic... debate Mr. Armstrong enlightens debaters with his typical words of wisdom. The Debate team, Rorey Thompson, Paul Eagle, Maynard Siegel, Linnea johnson, Marty Lefstein, john Robison, Dave Heinz, Bob Martensen, Scot Caulpetzer, and Ken Herbert present formidable arguments to opposing debate teams. Sophomore debaters Dennis Brown, Dave VanDerKamp, Mike Shaner, Mike Dockterman, Pete Caras, Ken Slivken, and John Schweibert prepare to follow in the footsteps of the varsity team.
