Valuable programs instruct future educators Do you hate your teachers? If you answered yes, you should have joined FTA, a club dedicated to the better understanding of teachers. In FTA, each member had the chance to learn all about the trials and joys of the teaching profession. This year, in order to make these facts available to members, the club had many teachers come to speak at meetings, describing their work. Aside from regular meetings, the FTA also sent representatives to the state convention where club meth¬ ods were discussed. Marilyn Fields and Julie Blick make plans for Future Teachers meeting. Young Republicans, Marsha Maurus, secretary; Laura Swedberg, vice-president; Marlise Riffel, president; John Robison, junior delegate; Cindy Harless, treasurer; and Roy Phelps, sophomore delegate flash victory smiles. Victory reward for avid GOP supporters President Marlise Riffel anticipates win for Rockefeller. During the crucial pre-elec¬ tion period, the Young Repub¬ licans reached for their goal of GOP victory in ' 68. They warm¬ ly greeted Richard Nixon and Nelson Rockefeller when each visited the Quad Cities. Be¬ tween campaigning and can¬ vassing, the members found time to make a float for the Homecoming parade in the shape of an elephant. Avid Rockefeller supporters prepare for sojourn to Miami to let their voices be heard as the New Majority for Rockefeller.

Students take advantage of an emergency to gain valuable experience in preparation for their future vocation. Experience trains future medical assistants Have you ever cringed at the thought of a needle, or fainted at the sight of blood? Then FNA would not have been the club for you. This group was for girls interested in nursing. The girls learned about this profession through speakers, films, and a hospital tour. Some of their projects were helping the T.B. Association, and making Christmas favors for many hospitalized children. The caring for ill students is just one of the duties of future nurses. Future nurse ' s measure up ability. 149
