WHAT’S THIS! A typewriter empty? Somebody must be loafing . During 4th Hour from lunch on time " became the daily word. Layouts and photographs piled up quickly on tables, desks, and file cabinets. In one corner, four sad typewriters beat out 260 pages ofcopy. In the process of making a yearbook, there were awkward moments, trying moments, and hectic moments. But when the time was gone, the staff found a moment of satisfaction in having recorded the story of a year at Rock Island High School. EDITOR LINDA Lindstrom seems to be up to something devilish again. JUNIOR ASSISTANTS learn their skills early. They are: Norm Anderson, Penny Gorsuch, Kathy Kepes, Dave Rockwell, Betsy Erb, Deggie Brasier, Diane Jagger, Vicki Weindruch, and Vicky Mellenger.

ALL THIS CONFUSION makes a yearbook? Right! Several staff members attempt to straighten it out. Kathy Tobias Sherry Cosentine, Gloria Linke, Cindy Johnson, Jo Swedberg, Linda Lindstrom, Aimee Sutton, Linda Collins, Kathy Everingham, Bo Williamson, Jeri Herman, and Chris Bjorn. Watch tower Staff and Junior Assistants Combine Efforts Time—1967 —affected every Rocky stu¬ dent differently. For some, a year of it flitted by in a blurred instant. Others impatiently counted every month, week, day, hour, and second. But to the 1967 Watchtower staff, it seemed that time moved faster in Room 217 than in any other room in the entire build¬ ing . Deadlines loomed ahead and passed quickly. Few Watchtower periods went by without at least one wish for a thirty-six hour day. Time surrounded every action. “Be up “SEE, I told you so.” Linda Collins prompts Jack Grom- moll in spelling. 164 “I’LL TAKE three.” Assistants hurry to meet Watch- tower order demands.
