Dick May Senior Back Jim Collins Junior Back The Rock’s third ame found them turning back Clinton by a 14-6 margin. The turning point in this game came with John Bleck- er’s 59-yard punt return. After the Rock’s defeat of Clinton, the East Moline Panthers fell prey to a fine team effort by the Rock Is¬ land crew. Coach Johnstone commented after the game, “The game was a good team effort all the way’’. The Rock Island-Alleman fray for the city champion¬ ship ended in a 7-7 tie. With only 59 seconds remaining, George Duhlstine intercepted a pass in his own end zone to halt an Alleman scoring threat. An Alleman defender figures the only way to get ahead is to get a head; un¬ fortunately, it’s still attached to Steve M. Ken Pfaff Junior Lineman The week-end after the dis¬ appointing homecoming loss, the Rocks bounced back into the win column with a 40-0 win over Moline. This was another team effort, with everyone doing his job well. However, credit should go to fullback, Fred Behnken, for his role in loosening up the Moline line. Steve Botts Senior Lineman At Dubuque, it was two VanDine to Teros touchdown passes, one for 71 yards and the other for 74 yards, that pulled the Rocks through. The fighting spirit of the small, but .scrappy, R. I. squad was clearly .shown by being down 7-0 in the fourth quarter, and then rallying for a 20-7 win.
