The spring Crier staff, looking forward to their Brooks, co-editors; Mr. Nicholas Peschang, The Crier staff works hard during the two weeks it takes to put out the paper. Page layouts are planned and re-planned to achieve an attractive and practical page. Copy is written and checked for error, rushed to Davenport for printing, proofread again, and finally sent to the print shop for the final draft. FIRST SEMESTER NEWS » originality, and perseverance in thirty-two pages of Marsha Smith, Ina Karish, Kathy Johnson, and Terry Sally Temple, Carla Hammerlund, Jackie Staley, Cheryl Row: Ron Willems, Dick Cummins, and Larry Assistant sports editor Dick Cummins shares an amusing article with sports editor Terry Rosenquist and assistant Anita Eagle as they read over their section in the Crier. The second semester class is responsible for writing and publishing the fall edition of the Crimson Crier using the skills they learned during the first semester. The fall Crier staff puts out seven editions of the paper covering football. Home¬ coming, basketball previews, club activities, plays, Christmas activities, and other events of interest at Rocky during the fall. Then, at the end of the semester, they hand the responsibility of bringing news to the students to a new staff. Keeping the Crimson Crier economically secure is the task of Larry Turnipseed, Advertising Manager; Cheryl Olson, Busi¬ ness Manager; and Ron Willems, Circu¬ lation Manager. CRIMSON CRIER

The staff of the Crimson Crier is organized into editorial, circulation, and advertising divisions — each with its particular job to perform in the pub¬ lishing of the paper. The Spring Crier staff fills the pages of its seven issues with the bas¬ ketball tournament, track, Prom, base¬ ball, swimming, scholastic achieve¬ ments, Easter, graduation activities, and other events of late winter and of spring. Checking the ads for the coming issues are Gary Kramer, advertising manag¬ er, and his staff, John Paridon, Mike McAdams, and George Atkinson. Judy Phillips, picture editor, acquaints herself and her assistants, Rita Larui- rith and Diane Dutiel, with their camera, soon to become their constant companion. CRIMSON CRIEK 119
