Electronics Club President, Peter Bohn, demonstrates his prowess with electric devices, while Vice-President, Ron Johnston; and Secretory-Treasurer, Pam Moses, look on. Electronics Club, under the sponsor¬ ship of Mr. McMasters, meets on the second Thursday of every month. This club is one of specialized interest, and for that reason the membership is very small. This year there were only seventeen members. In general the club learns codes and studies the theory of radio. This year they have put together several types of instruments. The members of the club also work in the concession stand at home foot¬ ball and basketball games. ELECTRONICS CLUB PREPARES FOR SCIENCE FAIR. OFF STUDENT TALENT Clowning was the feature production of the November meeting of the Dra¬ matic Club. Mike McAdams and Bill Tyler presented " Maker of Dreams ' This year ' s dramatic club began its years activities with the annual Dramatic Club play. The play was presented on November 18th under the direction of the club sponsor, Miss Dorothy Peterson. Other activities included skits put on by some of the members for entertainment at the monthly meet¬ ings and viewing the slides of Miss Peterson ' s trip in Europe. The club ' s membership consists of one hundred students who are interested in speech and drama work. The members are chosen by " Miss Pete " after the organizations assembly has been presented and everyone has had a chance to sign up. TRIBE STUDIES CITY ' S ROLE IN THE CIVIL WAR Acting as hostesses for the Christmas party are council members, Karalee Cook, Jane Aikin, and Kathryn Smellow. ' ' Follow the trail of history " is the directive given to the members of Blackhawk Tribe. This organization is not a band of Indians but a group of students eager to learn more about the world in the past tense. They study state and national history with an emphasis on the local past. Pro¬ moting interest in the " Junior His¬ torian " is another interest of the club. The special project this year is to study Rock Island ' s role in the Civil War. The national election is the subject for a meeting with Youth Forum, and a speaker is invited to talk on recent discoveries in Indian life. BLACKHAWK TRIBE 125
