ORIENTAL GARDENS bs.. ,f4- Rx Transformed into an Oriental garden for the evening, the gym was decorated with Chinese lanterns, hanging from the false-ceiling. Cherry trees bloomed everywhere and the entrance to the dining area was through a pagoda arch. Sophomores who served as waiters and waitresses were: Bob Billesbach, Janis Buckendorf, Betty Bussinger, Judi Cross, Shirley Halstead, Gary Haszard, John Panzer, Bill Sanger, Charles Shaw, David Swanson, Linda Shaw and Patty Terry. The coat check stand was managed by Barbara Sybrant and Nick Lyman. Judy Bussinger served as toastmistress for the occasion.

We are the Future Home- makers of America. We were or- ganized as a charter chapter in 1946, along with the national and state organizations. We have beenable to achieve many honors in serving our chapter, home, school, and com- munity. We have received the honor chapter award for seven successive years by carrying out numerous in- ternational, national, state, and local projects. We received another honor at the State F.H.A. ConventioninMarch when Joan Sandall was elected to serve as State Publicity Chairman for the year 1957-1958. JUNIOR DEGREES STATE DEGREES CHAPTER DEGREES The purpose of the Junior Homemaking Degree is to give girls opportunity to grow as anindivldual, a member of the chapter, the home, the school, and the community. The purpose of the Chapter Homemaking Degree is no givegirls opportunities to interpret F.H.A. I0 others and further grow as an in- dividual, member of the chapter, home, school, and community. The purpose of the State Home- maker Degree is to develop girls into a well- rolmded personality.
