Commander Samuel L. Doak was born ln Greenville, Tennessee and :it- tended public schools there. He went to Marion Institute, Marion, Alabama ll Tennessee prior to entering the UA-3. and Tusculum College, Greenvl e, the Naval Academy in 1950, Naval Academy. Subsequent to graduating from leted the Command and Staff Course at the Naval Commander Doak comp War College and was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Boston University. Sea duty for Commander Doak has included destroyer force tours on thc- USS JOHN R. PIERCE CDD-7535, USS CHARLES ll, ROAN GJD-85IiJ,:lvifl as Executive Officer of the USS PURSE CDD-8825, Commander Iloak was ' - ' SS i-lXUl,- Commanding Officer of the USS LAKE COUNTY CLST 8803 and Uv TANT GVISO-4413. C mander Doak's tours ashore have included service on the :mills nl om Commander Service Force, U,S, Atlantic Pleetg U,S, Naval Wan' Colleen-3 1 Chief U.S. Pacific Fleet. Upon completion of his pn-:-.mit and Commander n , ARD he will assume tiutlert- ns asslgnment aboard the ROBERT H. MC C , Chief of Staff for Commander, Amphibious Squadron Twelve.
