Suppl Department 'rf Tw 1. x ti eo- he az 1 LTJG T, D.Younkln Supply Officer What have you done for the sh1ptoday'? is the question that the Supply Department used as the incentive to pro- vide the many services required aboard MC CARD. To en- able the shlp to be at maximum readiness the Store- keepers kept a quarter of a million dollars worth of re- pair parts and consumables ready for immediate issue. The Commlssarymen satisfied the appetites of 300 men through the preparation of three daily meals, Bo1les rolls becoming an established baking institution. The laundry and barber shop kept the standards of military smartness at a peak and the sh1p's store enabled the crew SKC D. R, Chasteen to spend a portion of their hard earned combat pay on items ranging from everyday toiletries to sophisticated electronic equipment. A popular figure throughout the deployment was the dlsburslng clerk who was kept busy figuring the financial benefits ofa WELSTPAC deployment. And finally the Steward branch, who maintained the ward- room and officers country and kept the ice cream dishes filled. The effectiveness of these 30 men and their shlp- wide contribution to the tempo of operations tn a combat environment exemplified the Supply motto of Service to the fleet. s e I I ' nrhmll 1 1 1 CSC L.
