LHS lnspires Romans Honoring outstanding students of Latin, the Latin Honor Society, under the guidance of Mrs. Vllalleah Tenny- son, strives to foster the development of academic standards in Latin and to be of service to Lee. Members not currently enrolled in Latin, must have previously completed tvvo years of this language. Highlights of the year included not only a tall and spring banquet and the induction of new members in February, but also the fourth annual Gulf Coast Latin Convention. Addi- tionally, the club captured first place in the chariot design and third place in the 'lgrape-eating contests in the second annual Roman Games, a mock Olympics. IO7

Candella Koomey, pro- gram chairman, join in her reverie. Les Fleurs de Lee, or the French Club offers to French enthusiasts the opportunity to expand their knowl- edge of France: its people, customs, and language. Traditionally, the club began the year with a faculty breakfast held in the Home-Ec living room. Also, mem- bers learned the art of French cuisine through attending a French cooking school. ln the spring, Les Fleurs de Lee hosted a theater troupe from Paris, which performed the play, Le Medi- cin Malgre Lui. The year concluded with a French dinner at Brennan's Restaurant. 109
