COMMA DER P UL DAVIS MOSES, COMMANDING OFFICER, USS ROARK FFl053 Commander Moses graduated from the Naval Academy in l96I and reported to the USS R. K. HUN- TINGTON CDD 78lJ in Mayport, Florida for duty as ASW and Weapons Officer. ln i963 he reported to U.S. Navy Submarine School in New London, Connecticut. Upon graduation he was assigned duties as Weapons Officer and Engineer Officer on USS WAHOO CSS 5653. Commander Moses served at sea for a period of five years on WAHOO and on the USS ALBACORE CSS 5699 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire as Engineer Officer. From January i968 through September I97O he served in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in the manpower requirement division of the Deputy CNO for Vlanpower matters COP-OID. ln October I97O he reported to the Bureau of Naval Personnel for duty in the Plans and Policy Division as Enlisted Personnel Planner for the Submarine force and the Nuclear Power Program. CDR Moses comes to ROARK from a tour of duty as Operations Officer on the USS TRUXTUN CDLGN 355 where he reported upon graduation from Destroyer School in December l97l. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for services in TRUXTUN, the Navy Achievement Medal for service in OPNAV and holds the Navy Unit Commendation, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and the Vietnamese Sustained Service Medal. CDR Moses holds a Master of Science degree in System Management from George Washington Univer- sity. He and his wife, the former Mary Charles Davis, are both natives of Quincy, Florida. They have two sons, Dave and Dan.
