Having survived the trials and tribulations of registration, and having donned garb recommended for the incoming freshmen, he is ready to face instructors and classmates with some degree of safety. Photograph below (Table 5) provides a graphic closeup of just what goes on when a college student tries to make up his mind about selecting a major course of study and to line up a program free of conflicts. Faculty members served as counsellors during registration period, and students were assigned to tables in accordance with their chief interests. It all seemed a little discouraging at first, but by February 1, when the second semester began, everybody knew the ropes. The second round of registration was a breeze by comparison.
