Juniors 1947-48 At last . . . upperclassmen with the realization that we must leave an even greater m-ark than in our previous years. During the summer R-B had seen many changes. Not only were our braver girls wearing the New Look but, our cam- pus had it with new trees, shrubbery, and sidewalks and the stadium was fast be- coming a reality. We sent our tennis team and J. Hagan, our 880 man, down state. How proud we were of our former cl-ass president when he returned with a second place showing. We helped initiate the first annual talent show and provided besides other numbers a classy chorus line of girls. Strictly Formal, our class play was a big success. Our class officers this year were Ken Flaherty, James Horalek, Betty Mealer, Arnold Wackrow, and Tony Heller. We decked out in all our glory when we honored the seniors at our prom held at the Acacia Country Club. At that time we began thinking about next year and when the seniors donned their caps and gowns, we realized that the end was near -just one more year. Seniors 1948-49 Here we are as sensible seniors with our freshmen timidity and our sopho- more cocksureness a phase in the past. There were many changes that had taken place at R-B. Our teachers inaugurated a workshop week, the New Look was no longer new, we were eating 35c lunch- es, and we were again proud of our basketball teams. On bow day we wore the traditional white and we proudly re- membered when we had looked up to the seniors. The Masque and Wig play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay expressed our gay and carefree feelings. Leading us through this year was a foursome of cap- able males, namely, Jack Hagan, Ken Flaherty, Frank Hajek, and Dick Kin- naird. Then our dream came true, we graduated. We were saddened to think that we would leave our friends but with new hope and encouragement from our directors for the life ahead, we squared our shoulders and went out to become great actors and actresses in whatever the future held for us. These past four years truly were The Best Years of Our Lives. Page 25
