STUDE T LEADERS The student council is selected by voting the students in their year bracket that will do a good job in sponsoring their classmates. The student council kept themselves very busy with their many activi- ties they organized through the I982-83 school year. During homecoming season they sold black and gold pins saying Homecoming . Another activity the council did was to sell jewel- ry, which was a great success and the students like the jewelry very well. To continue, they had an ac- tivity for the young children in elementary, which was a big wheel race that was held in the high school parking lot. Again the student council had an annual sweetheart day, which you have a choice of buying a flower, paper heart with a candy kiss, or a valentine lollipop for your sweet- heart. ln December they orga- nized a movie called Taps , which was held in the gym along with the annual blood drive in which students from Riverdale, of age, gave blood along with adults from the surrounding area. All in all the student council had a very busy and exciting I9S2-S3 school year. 24 Organizations

LIBRARY A D ELEME TAR Y WORKERS This year many of Riverdale's stu- dents used much of their time to benefit others. At the high school, a new group was formed, library aids. These people worked in the library stacks locating books for fellow students. Like last year, some students worked over at the elementary. They had the added benefit of an Apple ll computer to assist in the teaching of their students.
