l DER PRESSURE
The members of the board for the l98l-82 school year consist of, Virgil Mumma, Nancy
Treadrea, Tom Lonergan, Roger Curry, Joan Polfleit, and Sharon Bass. Former members include
Don Vercautren, who served 2 M years on the board and Jean Mitton, who resigned after 6
years. Both have made contributions to make this district better. During the school year the
board was asked to make several decisions. Below are some of the decisions that were made:
Accepted the resignation of Michael Russell, elementary assistant principal.
Approved dismantling of Coe Museum.
Approved Master Contract between R. T.A. and Board of Education.
Hired Gary Orr as Elementary Assistant Principal.
Leased!Purchased a Canon 400F copier for High School and Unit.
Approved the use of "Scope" magazine by the English Department.
Adopted the I98 I Tax Levy.
Security gate approved for High School.
Board approved applying for lmpacted Aid under Public Law 8 I -8 74.
Approved Chief Mark A. Schumacher as truant ofHcer for the district.
Approved purchasing new telephone system for elementary and high school buildings.
Approved hiring auditing firm Gorenz 5 Associate to audit the books.
Approved tenure teachers be offered contracts for l982-83 school year.
Approved the Vocational One and Five Year Plan.
Approved Citizens Advisory Council members: Judy Spencer, Charles Toppert, Jr. John Golden
and Joy Franklin.
Jolene Glass leave of absence for next fall approved.
Approved Betty Franks' request for early retirement.
Approved resignation of Thelma Knight. '”
