Play-Offs Moving into the first round of the playoffs, the Warriors had a second meeting with Lincoln County. Things did not look hopeful going into the game -W-Rias Bennett and Mike Smith were both limited in play due to injuries. However, school spirit was high, and the Warriors were determined not to lose twice to the Falcons. Sure enough, Riverdale scored three times, and although they did not get any of the extra points, the Warriors managed to completely shut out the Falcons, 18-0. Another outstanding aspect of this game was that Rias Bennett passed the 1,000 yard mark despite his limited play. After this victory, Riverdale moved to the second round in the playoffs to meet Rhea County. Unfortunately, the Warriors were not so successful this timeg Rhea County won 6-0. However, Riverdale played an admirable game against the team which went on to place second in the state playoffs. The Warriors had a good year. They beat Oakland and won the school bragging rights for a year. They won the district title, and advanced two rounds into the playoffs, one round more than Oakland did. The Warriors finished the year, including playoffs, 8-3g this admirable record reflects Riverdale,s outstanding football team and coaching staff. 1 '. v-1 AM .
