Shelbyville Kicker Eddie Kilgour did his job in overtime with a field goal to win over Shelbyville 28-27. Coach Fisher's team continued to win the close games with last minute heroics. Ahead until the fourth quarter, the Warriors' lead evaporated when the Eagles tied the score with only 54 seconds remaining in the game. Shelbyville scored first in overtime, but Terrance James blocked the Eagles' extra-point attempt, leav- ing the score at 27-21. The passing of quarter- back Alfonzo Alexander to split end Mike Smith, coupled with the running of Rias Ben- nett, provided enough offense to claim a River- dale victory. McMinnville In district match-up with the McMinnville Pio- neers, the Warriors came away with another close victory. Riverdale was ahead 17-7 until the final quarter, the Pioneers, however, re- mained in the game with an 8-play scoring drive. Minutes later, the Warriors gave up the football, and the Pioneers drove to the 16-yard line before the tough Warrior defense dug in to stop them. Rias Bennett pulled off another big play when he blocked a last minute field goal attempt. Offensively, the running of Bennett and James, along with the passing of Alexander and kicking of Kilgour, ensured another River- dale win, with the final score 17-14. -6 Kr ' Hey, Jeff, let's make a Warrior sandwich!
