There is only one truth In the world today. That truth must rise Like a bridge of gold Over waters troubled. Over waters cold. Like a Bridge Over Troubled Waters Is what we call. But does that bridge Really rise for all? For the poor in the slums. Who hove want and fears. Will the bridge ever come That can wash away tears? For the Black and the Red, Who have suffered so long. Will the bridge ever come That can right all that wrong? Like a bridge over waters Troubled and bad One cannot raise it. And that is really sad. We all must work, You, she, and me. To make this the land And the home of the free. III. ■ ■ fi GanlllL 111 mi r We ' ll work to raise This bridge and you ' ll see, A land where everyone Is equal and free. A land where there is No more hating and want, A land where we put Everyone up in front. He is an individual who has achieved something special, and he has accomplished this through hard work, time, and devotion to his sport. Mr. Football, the bonfire, floats, a victory, and the tradi- tional queen highlighted our Football Homecoming of ’71 . The Ingots hosted Hanover Central Wildcats on September 1 7. Homecoming was climaxed with the crowning of senior queen candidate Sue Thormann and the naming of senior Bruce Hillard as Mr. Football. The seniors and the sophomores tied for first place in the float competition while the juniors took second place, fol- lowed by the freshmen. The evening was topped off with a 20-0 victory for the Ingots! Clockwise: As the final seconds ticked away, the Ingots witnessed the first victory of the season. Senior Bruce Hilliard (Mr. Football) runs with the ball. Sue Thormann was elected Football Homecoming Queen of 1 971 . Her es- cort was Dave Burns. The homecoming court included junior Gail Johnson and Steve Szewczyk, senior Diane lamb and Don Johnson, sophomore Norma Serrano and Paul Karas, and freshman May Page and Mike Orange. WELLS BOB FLACH In these days of trouble and war Around the world so gray. There is only one truth In the world today. That truth must rise Like a bridge of gold Over waters troubled Over waters cold. Like A Bridge Over Troubled Waters Is what we call. But does that bridge Really rise for all? For the poor in the slums. Who have want and fears. Will the bridge ever come That can wash away tears? For the Black and the Red, Who have suffered so long, Will the bridge ever come That can right all that wrong? Like a bridge over waters Troubled and bad. One cannot raise it. And that is really sad. We all must work. You, she and me. To make this the land And the home of the free. We’ll work to raise This bridge and you’ll see, A land where everyone Is equal and free. A land where there is No more hating and want, A land where we put Everyone up in front. A Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Is that what we need? A bridge to go over All this hatred and greed? Yes, let us start at the source. Within our own mind. To make this world perfect For all of mankind. fiudtOQnjCipl i$ 141 AutoCj ' rftphs kc 142 utocf ' tapks
